At 50 Sheldon had already earned a Tony Award for a Broadway musical, a screen writing Oscar―for  the Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer, starring Cary Grant―and television immortality for creating The Patty Duke Show and I Dream of Jeannie.
Only then did he begin writting the unabashedly commercial novels that would make him a household name. His books, which include Rage of Angels and Master of the Game, have sold more than 300 million copies in 51 languages.

According to the above article, Sidney Sheldon passed away last year, 2007. He was born in 1917, so he died at the age of ninety.  I know that he was a best-selling writer, and I had seen his books many times at  book stores.  I did not read his books but remember his book, Master of the Game (Geemu no tatsujin). 上の記事によれば、シドニー・シェルダンが２００７年に無くなったとのこと。１９１７年うまれだから、無くなった時は90歳ということになる。彼がベストセラー作家であったことは、知っているし、数え切れないくらい何回も彼の本を本屋で見たことがある。　それらの本を読んだことはないが、ゲームの達人という本があったこをを覚えている。
 
I have just started reading one of his books, "A Stranger in the Mirror". I also got a book, "DRIPPY The Runaway Raindrop, English Adventure". This text book is written by Sidney Sheldon and Mary Sheldon. So this article instantly caught my attention.　A Stranger in the Mirror　を読み始めたところです。DRIPPY The Runaway Raindrop, English Adventure　も手に入れました。これもシドニー・シェルダンとマリー・シェルダンの作品だった。そのせいで、この記事は直ぐに目に止まった。

After reading it, I knew he gave an original story of the TV drama, "Kawaii Majo Jeanie".  This fact is a little surprise for me. I remembered that I watched the programs. Maybe the ones I watched were rerun though. 記事を読んで、可愛い魔女ジニーも彼の原案だと知りました。これには少し驚きました。この番組を見ていたことを覚えています。 私が見たものは多分、再放送のものでしょうけど。
