(381) Shane 3　[調べる] [編集]

Shane 3

I read Shane of LADDER SERIES published by YOHAN in 1985. This book has been prepared on the 1000-word vocabulary level. Some difficult word are explained as glossary in the back of the book. The glossary has easy words for me, such as bottle, chin , cow, pistol, whisky. I found a lot of words that I don’t know in the book of Shane, a ladder edition at 1000-word level.

以下はShaneとChrisの格闘の場面なんだけど、なかなか状況が頭の中に描ききれない。でも何回も読み返して、

最後の部分は、Shoulder Arm Breaker　なのではと思った。昔、プロレスで見た技のように思えた。

“”Two bottles of soda pop,” he called to Will Atkey. He leaned his back on the bar and looked the room over with what seemed a friendly interest while Will got the bottle from the store. They were all watching him and wondering what the play was. He took the two bottles and walked to the table and set them down, reaching over to put one in front of Chris.

“The last time I was in here you offered me a drink. Now it’s my turn.” The words sort of stayed there in the stillness. He got the idea. Ed Howells said, that Shane just wanted what he said ― he wanted Chris to take that bottle and smile at him and drink with him.

Chris reached his right hand out for the bottle. He lifted it in a sudden motion and threw it across the tables at Shane.

So fast Shane moved, Ed Howells said, that the bottle was still in the air when he had stepped aside, taken hold of Chris by the shirt front and pulled him right out of his chair and over the table. As Chris tried to get his feet under him, Shane let go the shirt and gave him three blows, the hand so quick you could hardly see it. It sounded like three gun shots.

Shane stepped back and Chris stood there a little, shaking his head to clear it. He was mad down to his shoes. He came in fighting, and Shane let him come, getting inside the moving arms and giving him a powerful blow into his body. Chris’s head came down, Shane brought his right hand up, open and caught Chris full on the mouth, forcing his head back.

The force knocked Chris off his feet. His lips were hurt. Blood was dropping over them from his nose. His eyes were red and watery and he was having trouble seeing with them. His face, Ed Howells said, looked like a horse had stepped on it. But he charged in again, wildly.

Shane caught one of his hands and turned his arm around, putting his shoulder in under the arm close to the body. He pulled hard and Chris went up and over him. As the body came over, Shane kept hold of the arm and pulled it sideways and let the weight bear on it and you could hear the bone break as Chris fell to the floor. A long sort of crying sound came from Chris and that died away and there was not a sound in the room. shoulder arm breaker.jpg

相手の腕を自分の肩に叩きつける痛め技。

1.
正面から相手の右手首を自分の両手で掴み、
左に捻りつつ自分の右肩の上に乗せる。
そのまま持ち上げて、
相手の右腕を自分の右肩に叩きつけ。
捻って取っているため、
相手の腕は曲がらない状態で叩きつけられ、
テコの原理で痛めつけられる。

2.
1.と逆の腕を取るパターン
正面から相手の左手首を自分の両手で掴み、

左に捻りつつ自分の右肩の上に乗せる。
そのまま持ち上げて、
相手の右腕を自分の右肩に叩きつけ。
捻って取っているため、
相手の腕は曲がらない状態で叩きつけられ、
