（２１６）キルト フェスティバルOSAKA ２０１０

I had my hair cut after lunch. It was cloudy, looked like rain. When I arrived Daimaru department store of Shinsaibashi, it was raining.  I had gotten a ticket of Quilt Festival OSAKA 2010 from an aquaintance, so I went to Daimaru Shinsaibashi gallery in the Sunday afternoon. A lot of people gathered at the gallery. We could see several antique quilts and accepted modern quilts at a certain quilt contest. They were very beautiful. Their colors and designs varied from one quilt to another. Very small stitches and complicated embroideries were done on those quilts. I just wondered how many days it had taken to finish each quilt. Those quilts were so beautiful to use as bed covers. Maybe most of them are made for display.

2.キルト布[カバー・生地]◆キルト状に仕上げた布やカバー

This timeのQuilt Festivalは2.のキルト布だった。ちょっとふかふかをイメージしていたが、すべてflatのキルトでした。

刺し子：綿布を重ね合わせ一面に細かく刺し縫いにすること。また、そのようにして縫われたもの。保温力があり非常に丈夫なので、柔道着・剣道着・消防服などに用いる。さしっ子。

kilt:キルトはまったく別の言葉だった。
