先日、英会話のクラブで、「blossomってどんな花」ってたずねられた。
私は、桜のようような小さい花がたくさん咲く花かなと思っていたが、その先輩は「果実の花」のこと・・・みたいなことをおっしゃってた。　調べてみた。

結果：どちらも正しい。下記の説明にもあるように、梅、桃などのサクラ属の木の花か、一本の木にさく、そのような小さな花のことであった。 次にいろいろなblossomsが出てくる文をwikipediaから引用しました。
Nectarine blossoms, peach blossoms, most cherry blossoms, and some almond blossoms are usually pink. Plum blossoms, apple blossoms, some cherry blossoms, and most almond blossoms are white.
